Women Protest Non-Empowerment By Union

          Some state coordinators ‎of the Nigeria Cooperative Women Alliance (NICOWA) have staged a protest to demand the empowerment of women in the organisation following years of contribution without any form of empowerment.

Carrying placards with several inscriptions, the women asked for the refund of all payments made by women to the organisation.

They marched to the national secretariat of ‎ NICOWA to ask questions bothering on why the association is yet to empower women in the 36 states of the federation after years of monthly contribution to assist them financially.

The National President of the Alliance, Dr Esther Eka, who was accused of sharp practices, denied engaging in any form of fraudulent act, adding that those protesting also have questions to answer.
