Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale
have officially settled the terms of their divorce, according to a
report — and it involves sharing joint custody of their three children.
According to TMZ,
the couple will legally have a 50/50 split of physical custody, though
the kids may be with Rossdale, 49, for more time while Stefani, 46, is
on tour.
Additionally, Rossdale will
reportedly be getting less than half of their shared property though the
couple don’t have a prenup — all in the name of expediting the
settlement process.
The rocker couple are parents to Kingston, 9, Zuma, 6, and Apollo, 19 months, and announced their decision to split after 13 years of marriage in August.
“While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment,” they said. “To that end, we respectfully request privacy from the media during this time.”
A
source close to the couple told said earlier this year that the split
was “a long time coming,” so the terms of the divorce were “worked out
months ago.”
“It only looks sudden, but everything was worked out months ago so paperwork could be filed and the marriage could be ended quickly and easily,” the source said. “Things were rocky before [the birth of Apollo], but they tried to make the marriage work. But it just couldn’t. A lot of the feeling was gone.”
The
pair cited irreconcilable differences in their divorce documents, and
were spotted spending time together just two weeks after their divorce
announcement, at the Balboa Fun Zone in Newport Beach, Calif., for a
family outing.
