Yet to be identified number of people were this evening injured in a multiple accident that involved two long trailers along Erio – Efon-Alaaye road, Ekiti state.
The accident according to eyewitness, was a result of brake failure on the part of a trailer, which was fully loaded with bags of rice and the driver was trying to mount the hilly part of the road.
The other trailer also had a similar case and fell on the first trailer.
Naij.com reliably gathered that as at the time of filling this report, nobody has been reported dead but many people sustained various degrees of injuries.
Most of the affected ones are passengers and roadside traders and they have been rushed to undisclosed hospital within the area.
Some of the lucky passengers, who spoke to Naij call on government to come to the rescue of the people living around the area, urging government to enforce the ban on long vehicles plying major roads during the day.
Men and officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps and police were seen around the area to maintain laws and order and ensure normalcy return to the area.
They are also seeing to the decongestion of gridlock caused by the accident to allow for free flow of traffic.
Meanwhile, a man driving a Toyota Corolla had survived a serious accident at Itire road, in front of a new generation bank.
According to eye-witnesses, the car collided with another car and the driver lost control causing the car to somersault, but the driver was unhurt.
