Lassa Fever Kills 53-yr-old Woman In Akwa-Ibom

 According to the Akwa-Ibom State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Dominic Ukpong,  a 53-year old woman has died of Lassa fever in the state.

Dr. Ukpong announced the woman’s death after revesling that a taskforce had just been created to tackle the issue of Lassa fever.

Thus far, according to Dr. Ukpong, the State had recorded three cases of Lassa fever. He noted that one of the cases fled the hospital while another was already in hospital care for HIV.
