Members of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association [PENGASSAN] and their counterparts in the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers [NUPENG], are set to begin a nationwide strike starting from tomorrow Monday December 15th.

Eight out of the 13 governorship aspirants in Kebbi State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have petition the national headquarters of the party, disassociating themselves from the recent primary held in Birnin-Kebbi, the Kebbi State capital.
In a two-page communiqué signed by the Deputy Governor, Ibrahim Aliyu and six others, issued, made available to The Nation, they said the process that led to the election did not conform to the guidelines of the party. Therefore, they called for a cancellation of the election and the organization of a fresh one as soon as possible.

The Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has promised all Imo citizens that if elected into office for the second time, there would be total consolidation and continuity of his rescue mission agenda.

Governor Okorocha also promised to ensure he took the state to an enviable height through his developmental programmes.
The Governor made the promises at the Sam Mbakwe Airport in Owerri, the Imo State capital, upon his return to the state after the All Progressives Congress’ presidential primaries held in Lagos State.

A total of 91 million Euros have been earmarked as part of a five-year investment plan to confront the challenges of the Lake Chad Basin Commission.

The funds were agreed on at the 16th ordinary session of the Lake Chad Basin Commission Council of Ministers.

They met to deliberate how water resources in the Basin should be managed.

No fewer than 26 people drowned after a boat packed with passengers and goods capsized on Lake Tanganyika in southeastern Democratic Republic of Congo, officials said on Saturday.
According to survivors account, the vessel, which was travelling north from Kalemie in Katanga province to Uvira in South Kivu province, sank in the early hours of Friday.

David West, 70, who purchased the title of 'Lord of the Manor of Hollesley' on eBay, suffered fatal injuries at his home in Ormond Yard in London's West End.His 44-year-old son, also called David West, was charged with his murder on Saturday night and will appear at Westminster Magistrates Court on Monday.

How Nigerian Police Killed My Brother, Buried Him & Begged Us With N10m- Sister

Some policemen attached to Maroko police station, Lagos State, have been accused of killing a 24-year old man, Aondona Tavershima and buried him in a shallow grave at Lekki beach.
Five of the suspected policemen are now currently in police detention. The victim, a motorcycle operator, was alleged to have refused to stop when he was accosted by the policemen who were said to be on patrol at about 11am on the fateful day.

Some state coordinators ‎of the Nigeria Cooperative Women Alliance (NICOWA) have staged a protest to demand the empowerment of women in the organisation following years of contribution without any form of empowerment.

A suspected gas explosion this evening hit Arakale road in Akure and according to eyewitnesses, many people are feared dead.
