Blake Layman made one very bad decision. He was 16, an unexceptional teenager growing up in a small Indiana town. He’d never been in trouble with the law, had a clean criminal record, had never owned or even held a gun.
That decision sparked a chain of events that would culminate with his arrest and trial for “felony murder”. The boy was unarmed, had pulled no trigger, killed no one. He was himself shot and injured in the incident while his friend standing beside him was also shot and killed. Yet Layman would go on to be found guilty by a jury of his peers and sentenced to 55 years in a maximum-security prison for a shooting that he did not carry out.

Jews were the target of harassment in more countries across the globe in 2013 than at any time in past seven years, a study released Friday showed, with hostility towards the religious group higher in Europe than any other world region.

The report by the US-based Pew Research Center combined the results of two separate indexes – one measuring government actions that curb religious beliefs and practices and another measuring acts of social religious hostility by private individuals or organisations.

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras denied on Friday that Greece would need yet another international bailout, and a poll showed surging support for his government even though it had to back down to win a temporary lifeline from the euro zone.

An Egyptian court listed the Palestinian group Hamas as a terrorist organisation, judicial and security sources said on Saturday, one month after a judge listed the group’s armed wing as a terrorist group.

According to police reports,
24 year old Nigerian Ozeivo Andrew Akerele (pictured above) has been declared missing after he failed to return to his apartment from a night out with his friends on January 30th.

Ozeivo, a new entrant at the Coventry University, UK was last seen at Iglu club on Spon street where he went to hang out with his friends. Coventry police believe Ozi had called after leaving the club to be picked up from wherever he was.
