FG apologises to Nigerians over the poor power supply nationwide

The federal government has apologised to Nigerians for the recent drop in power supply Nationwide. In a statement issued in Abuja by Segun Adeyemi, special adviser to the Minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed, the Federal government ‎blamed gas pipeline vandalism and sabotage on the poor power situation.

President Buhari has reportedly ordered the redeployment of 184 top budget officials to other parastatals that have little or nothing to do with budget, as a punishment for their roles in padding the 2016 budget sent to the National Assembly.

Two Muslim women escorted off flight due to the way they were staring at flight attendant

Two women in Islamic attire were removed from a JetBlue flight 487 on Saturday after landing for allegedly filming the cabin crew. They were both arrested by the Police and escorted off the aircraft.
The arrest was posted online by a Wired journalist Mark Frauenfelder whose friend, Sharon Kessler, was on the same flight as the women but the video has since been made private after it went viral.
The airline has denied the women were ejected because of their presumed religion and says it was it simply paying “due diligence” to security procedures.

As part of efforts to end the present fuel scarcity, NNPC says it has released 228 truckloads of petroleum products to various locations in Abuja and its environs. According to a statement signed and released by Isreal Edjeren, the spokesperson of the Pipelines and Products Marketing Company, PPMC, the marketing and distribution subsidiary of the corporation, 52 trucks have been dispatched to Abuja, while stations around Suleja were allocated 23 trucks. About 30 trucks were distributed beyond Suleja.

Following the collapse of a five-storey building under construction on Kushenla Road, Ikate Elegushi, Lekki on Tuesday, the Police on Thursday said Richard Nyong, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Lekki Gardens, the construction company behind the collapsed building, has been detained at Panti Police Station.
