Congo president Denis Sassou Nguesso was on Thursday declared the winner of presidential elections, extending his 32 years in power in a vote the opposition says was marked by “massive fraud”.
Interior Minister Raymond Zephyrin Mboulou announced the results at 3:30am (0230 GMT) on national television, saying Sassou Nguesso had secured 60 percent of the vote in the tense weekend poll held under an ongoing communications blackout. Sassou Nguesso has ruled Congo for all but five years since 1979, having lived in Paris in exile from 1992 to 1997.

Disgraced footballer Adam Johnson was yesterday sentenced to six years imprisonment for having se xual relations with a child and now it has been revealed he was arrested last year after police officials saw extreme po rn involving animals in his laptop and phone. He also regularly checked a site with the caption ‘Nice Young Teens’.

Police released him because that wasn’t their point of focus as at March last year when he was arrested, rather they shifted their focus to his case with the 15 year old girl.

According to a statement released by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to President Buhari, Shehu Garba, a presidential committee set up to investigate contracts awarded in the Office of Former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki from 2011-2015, have released their report in which they indicted 300 contractors and were able to recover N7 billion from some fraudulent contractors.
Some of the contractors have been asked to refund N41 billion which they collected fraudulently.

The committee also established that one of the indicted companies, Societe D’Equipment International was overpaid to the tune of 7.9 Million Euros and $7.09 Million. UNTH, Enugu Finally releases Conjoined Twin Girls For Surgery

Comedian Garry Shandling died at an L.A. area hospital on Thursday of massive heart attack with no prior warning.

Lagos State Government has lifted the order on restriction of movement during the forthcoming Monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise on Saturday, 26th March, 2016 to allow for free movement of people and vehicles during the Easter celebration.
