Ex President Obasanjo Blasts Nigerian Police For Lack Of Diligence

FORMER president, Olusegun Obasanjo, on Thursday stormed out of the venue of an event organised by the police in Lagos for not starting as scheduled.

The president though waited for the programme to commence and gave his speech, took a swipe at the police for not being serious. The event was the biannual special training and capacity building programme, organised by the zone 2 command of the Nigeria Police at the Federal Palace Hotel.

The Federal Government has approved the temporary closure of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, with effect from midnight of March 7 to pave way for rehabilitation of the runway for six weeks.
Managing Director of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, Saleh Dunoma, who announced this, yesterday, said the airport would be re-opened for operations on April 19, 2017.

Initially, when he just got into office, President Donald Trump signed an executive order restricting immigration from seven Muslim-majority nations. The federal courts struck down his ban, but the White House said a new version would be coming.

There has been no further legal appeal, and announcement of a replacement order has been repeatedly postponed, a reflection of legal difficulties, shifting administration priorities and politics.
