A powerful earthquake struck Taiwan early on Saturday killing at least 12 people, most in a 17-story apartment building that collapsed, with some people still known to be missing in the ruins of the complex as night fell, government officials said.

A man suspected to be drunk was on Wednesday night crushed to death by moving train in Sharada area in Kano.

An eye witness told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano on Thursday that the incident happened around 8:00 pm.

At least one person was killed in a massive crane collapse in Lower Manhattan Friday morning, the New York Fire Department said.
