An Egyptian court has sentenced a four-year-old boy to life in prison for committing four ‘murders’ when he was only one and a half years old,the Jerusalem Post reports.

Ahmed Mansour Karni was convicted in absentia of four counts of murder, eight of attempted murder, vandalising property, disturbance of peace and threatening police officers.

Mysterious Disease Hits Lekki After 25 Children Die

 No less than 25 children have been confirmed dead following an outbreak of the Febrile Rash Illnesses (FRI) in Otodo-Gbame community in Ikate, Lekki. At a news conference in Lagos yesterday February 19th, the Lagos state commissioner for Health, Jide Idris, said though the source of the disease is still unknown, 34 cases of sick children with FRI is currently being treated while the graves of 20 children have been identified by their parents.

Experts Reveals Blood Donation Reduces Risk Of Heart Attack & Cancer

 Coordinator, National Blood Transfusion Services (NBTS), Calabar Centre, Dr Wilfred Ndifon,  on Friday, said voluntary blood donation would reduce risk of heart attack by 80 per cent. Ndifon, who made the assertion in Calabar during a blood donation organised for policemen and officers in the state, also said it would reduce the risk of having cancer. According to him, voluntary blood donors usually record low risk of heart attack, hence the need for healthy individuals to donate at least 500 milligrammes of blood four times a year.

Rare Baby Dolphin Dies After Crowd Passes It Around for Selfies

 A baby dolphin’s death has the internet outraged after the creature was taken from the ocean and passed around for selfies by a mob of beach-goers, according to Argentinian Wildlife Foundation Vida Silvestre.
Two of the endangered critters, La Plata or Franciscana dolphins, were spotted by tourists in the waters off Santa Teresita, a beach resort town located southeast of Buenos Aires.
Footage obtained by Sky News shows a person taking one of the dolphins from the water. A swarm of people then congregate around the creature on the sand, and reach out to touch it and pass it around for photos.

MTN South Africa’s Shares Sink In By 13%

 Shares in MTN Group have slumped more than 13 per cent, the company said on Friday in Johannesburg. In a statement, MTN said the expected fall in profit was due to under performance in Nigeria.
It said that the underperformance was because it faced a 3.9 billion dollars fine for failing to cut off more than five million SIM card users by the set date. Africa’s biggest mobile phone company said it was still in talks with regulators about the final size of the penalty.

Biafra: Kanu rejects FG’s request for secret trial

 The detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu, who is facing a six-count treason charge, has opposed an application by the federal government to conduct his trial in secret. FG had in the application it filed before the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, decried that all the witnesses billed to testify against Kanu and two other pro-Biafra agitators, Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi, who are facing trial with him, have declined to appear in court.

Drogba defends Serge Aurier who was suspended over homophobic abuse against Blanc

Former Ivory Coast captain, Didier Drogba has defended suspended Serge Aurier claiming the Paris Saint-Germain defender had been treated unfairly over his ban for abusing coach Laurent Blanc.

The 23-year-old Ivory Coast International was suspended by his club last Sunday after being caught on the social media video site Periscope verbally abusing PSG boss Blanc. The condom which is thought to be in use around the 18th and 19th century was expensive and took a lot of time to make hence only the rich could afford them. Liberian president, Ellen Sirleaf, appoints her son as head of Liberian Central Bank

 Liberian President, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, has appointed her son, Charles Sirleaf, as the interim executive governor of the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL). Charles, who is a highly experienced banker, was until his appointment, the deputy governor of the bank, having worked for the bank since 2004. He takes over from Joseph Mills Jones, the immediate Governor of the Bank who resigned so he can prepare to run for president during Liberia’s presidential election due to take place in 2017.

President Sirleaf suspended her son for a while in 2012, following his failure to properly declare his asset.

EFCC Arrests Diezani Alison-Madueke’s Husband for Alleged $600,000 Money Laundering

 Admiral Alison Amaechina Madueke (Rtd.), husband of Nigeria’s former petroleum minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, a former Chief of Naval Staff, was invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday.
The commission discussed alleged money laundering of $600,000 via his personal bank accounts.

CEO of Apple Disobeys Court Order To Unlock iPhone Belonging To Suicide Bomber

 Apple Inc Chief Executive Tim Cook said his company opposed a demand from U.S. judge to help the FBI break into an iPhone recovered from one of the San Bernardino shooters. Cook said that the demand threatened the security of Apple’s customers and had “implications far beyond the legal case at hand.” Judge Sheri Pym of U.S. District Court in Los Angeles said on Tuesday that Apple must provide “reasonable technical assistance” to investigators.
