The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) seems to be contemplating on probing Nigerians named in the Panama Papers scandal after they obtained a copy of the Panama Papers.

According to a EFCC source, the commission is studying the paper in order to make their next move.

Kesha’s claims of sexual abuse by acclaimed music producer Dr. Luke just hit a major roadblock. On Wednesday, April 6, New York Judge Shirley Werner Kornreich ruled that the “Tik Tok” singer’s allegations that Dr. Luke (ne Lukasz Gottwald), 42, raped her are void in the ongoing court case.

According to The Associated Press, Kornreich denied Kesha’s hate-crime and human-rights claims, noting that “every rape is not a gender-motivated hate crime.”

“Although [Luke’s] alleged actions were directed to Kesha, who is female, [her claims] do not allege that [Luke] harbored animus toward women or was motivated by gender animus when he allegedly behaved violently toward Kesha,” the judge continued, according to TMZ.

Pakistani refugee climbs a pole, forces himself into a noose and threatens to commit suicide in Lesbos, Greece

A young Pakistani man threatened to hang himself on the Greek island of Lesbos today April 6 , as scores of people locked up in a detention centre continued protesting their deportation to Turkey, Aljazeera reports.
Chanting “freedom, freedom” the 18-year-old held at the overcrowded Moria registration centre, climbed a utility pole, forced himself into a makeshift noose made of a scarf and threatened to end his life before being convinced by his compatriots and police officers to come down, Greek media reported.

NLC set to declare one day nationwide strike over electricity, Fuel

Leadership of the Nigeria Labor Congress NLC say they will soon be organizing a one-day warning strike over the lingering fuel scarcity ‎and the refusal of the Federal government to reduce electricity tariff. NLC President Ayuba Wabba disclosed this while speaking with newsmen during the Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting of the congress in Abuja today April 6th. No date has been set aside for the proposed strike.

National Assembly send details of the 2016 budget to President Buhari

The National Assembly says it has submitted the details of the 2016 budget to the clerk of the Assembly who will immediately forward the documents to President Buhari for scrutiny and his assent. Chairmen of the Appropriation committee of the senate and House of Representatives, ‎Sen. Danjuma Goje and Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin, in a joint statement released today, disclosed the recent development.
Buhari had earlier stated that he will not be assenting to the budget if the National Assembly did not pass the details of the budget to him so he can scrutinize it to know if the details presented were from the original budget he sent to the Assembly or were details from the padded budget.
