Women in Latin America and the Caribbean have been told to avoid pregnancy for two years following the outbreak of a virus that causes severe birth defects.

The Zika virus is currently rampaging through the Americas, particularly in Brazil, and can cause children to be born with microcephaly – an abnormally small head and brain.

Bomb Scare: Indian Plane Makes Emergency Landing

On Saturday, an Indian passenger plane was forced to make an emergency landing in the country’s western city of Nagpur after a hoax bomb threat, GoAir airline said.

The GoAir plane, carrying 150 passengers, was en route from the eastern city of Bhubaneshwar to Mumbai when authorities received an anonymous call that a bomb had been planted aboard.

The streaming service announced that the video for the song garnered one billion views in 87 days breaking the record for Psy’s Gangnam style which needed 158 days, that’s a rate of about 11 million a day.

With the new feat, Adele becomes the first artist to register one billion YouTube views within three months.

‘If anyone deserves it, it’s Adele and that song,’ said Susanne Daniels, the head of original programming at YouTube.

The news comes just weeks after Adele’s third album, 25, smashed global records with its chart success – beating the Fifa 16 computer game to become the UK’s biggest-selling home entertainment title of 2015.

The Minister of information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has assured that the Federal Government will not regulate Online Publications in the country, saying the publishers are responsible enough to regulate themselves.

The Minister gave the assurance on Friday when he met with Online Publishers in Lagos, in continuation of his ongoing consultation with key stakeholders in the Information and Culture sector.

The burial plans for the late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Samuel Odulana Odugade had been announced by Oyo State Government.

During the visit of the state Governor Abiola Ajimobi to the Monatan palace of the late monarch on Friday, he said a burial committee that would include the family of the late Olubadan and the Olubadan-in-Council would be constituted and that burial ceremony would begin on February 6.

The governor restated that the late king, who ascended the throne in 2007, would be given a befitting state burial. He added that the ceremony would end on February 12 when the remains of the late Olubadan would be committed to mother earth.

Olubadan died on Tuesday at the age of 101.

Court Grants Metuh Fresh N600m Bail

A Federal Capital Territory High Court in Maitama, Abuja, on Friday granted bail to the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Olisa Metuh, in the sum of N300m with two sureties in like sum.

The total bail sum is N600m.

Metuh is already on remand in Kuje Prison by an order of a Federal High Court in Abuja with respect to charges of money laundering involving N400m, part of money meant for procurement of arms, which he collected from the Office of the National Security Adviser in November 2014.

She complained of chest pains, suffered increasing difficulty with her breathing, and got to the point where she could barely walk up the stairs, an inquest at Blackburn Coroner’s Court, Lancashire, heard.

Yesterday, Nigeria’s former petroleum minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, finally appeared before the police in London, UK. She was at the Charing Cross Police Station, London to honor the summons by the authorities.

Diezani, who is facing some alleged corruption charges against her in the UK and currently undergoing treatment for her breast cancer, was given bail on the same condition granted earlier and asked to return to the station on 21 June, 2016

Body Of Kidnapped Delta Monarch Found In Edo

The King of Ubulu-Uku Kingdom in Aniocha area of Delta State, HRM Obi Akaeze Ofulue III, who was kidnapped on January 5 has been killed by his abductors. His corpse was found at Ekpon, in Edo State on Thursday.

It reported that young Hausa man who was allegedly found with the king’s GSM hand-set was arrested three days ago by the Police.
