‘You inspired me, thank you for everything’- Floyd Mayweather posts touching tribute to late Muhammad Ali

Boxing legend Muhammad Ali passed on early this morning at the age of 74. Floyd Mayweather, the World’s richest boxer took to his IG page to pour tributes to his hero and inspiration. He wrote;

The management of Ecobank Nigeria has fired 1040 of its staff. A source in the bank says the job cut was initially pegged at 1400 but it was reviewed down to 1040. A statement by the bank’s Managing Director, Charles Kie, states that certain jobs in the bank are being streamlined for a reduced number of people to do so as to bring about improved efficiency. N4bn campaign funds: EFCC freezes Udenwa, Onwuliri’s accounts

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has frozen two bank accounts jointly owned by a former Governor of Imo State, Achike Udenwa; and a former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Prof. Viola Onwuliri.

It was learnt that the accounts were frozen as part of investigation into the N4bn disbursed by the Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation during the build-up to the 2015 presidential election.

Former Miss Turkey sentenced to 14-months in jail for insulting the country’s President on Instagram

A court in Istabul Yesterday, Tuesday 31, convicted a former Miss Turkey of insulting President Recep Tayyip Erdogan through social media postings and gave her a 14-month suspended sentence.

27-year-old Merve Buyuksarac was found guilty of insulting a public official but immediately suspended the sentence on condition that she does not reoffend within the next five years.

Newly appointed Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Mohammad Babandede, has ordered the immediate arrest of former political office holders including governors, ministers, senators and retired public servants who are still in possession of Official/Diplomatic passports. Babandede gave the order while addressing senior officers of the Service at the Service headquarters in Abuja today May 31st.
