The Department of State Security Services has dismissed claims that Hon. Akanni Afolabi, a member of Ekiti State House Assemply died in its custody.

A day after two army officers were killed in Abonema community in Rivers state, an official of the Department of State Services (DSS) has also been killed. He was killed during an attack on security personnel in Omoku, Ogba/Ndoni/Egbema LGA of Rivers state yesterday March 18th.‎

Benzema heard as witness in Paris money-laundering case

French striker Karim Benzema was heard as a witness several months ago in an investigation over money laundering, a source close to the soccer player said on Friday, confirming a report by French daily Liberation.

The report comes less than three months before the start of the Euro 2016 soccer championship, for which the French national soccer federation (FFF) said he could not play until his legal situation in a separate case had been clarified.

Families of the three victims of the trailer accident which occurred at Ojuelegba, Lagos, on the 2^nd of September, 2015, have filed a suit in a Federal High Court in Lagos, against the Lagos State Government and its Attorney General.

Represented by Norrison Quakers (SAN), the families filed the suit on the grounds of negligence on the part of the respondents who also include Commissioner for Justice, Lagos State Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, the Lagos Public Works Corporation, Motor Vehicle Administration Agency, the Federal Government, the Attorney General of the Federation among others.

Convicted killer to be put to death for 2nd time after first execution attempt failed

A convicted killer who survived an attempt to execute him for his crimes seven years ago has been told he will be sent to the death chamber again.
The Ohio Supreme Court ruled 4 – 3 in favour of the state having a second chance to kill Romell Broom.

In 2009 the 59-year-old’s execution had to be called off after two hours when officials failed 18 times to attach intravenous needles to administer the lethal dose used in the process.

They were convicted on terror charges by a military court for their roles in several attacks.

A six-year-old schoolgirl, Oluwajuwon Akinsanya, has been abducted by unidentified persons at the Ojo Military Cantonment, Lagos.

The primary one pupil of Maryam Bliss International School, Ojo, was said to be sleeping in the room with her parents in Block II, Flat 5, Engineer Quarters, when she was whisked away by the abductors.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the men also stole the phone, money and recharge cards (vouchers) of the victim’s parents.Her mother, Yetunde, told our correspondent that the family had yet to be contacted by the abductors since the incident happened in January.
