Lingard Stunner Seals Comeback Victory For Manchester United As They Lift FA Cup

A brilliant strike from Jesse Lingard took Manchester United to their first silverware in almost three years, as the Red Devils triumphed 2-1 over Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final. Four students of the Federal University of Technology, Akure today lost their lives in a road accident on the Akure-Ilesha expressway as they made their way back to Akure after attending a religious programme in Ibadan.

Oil marketers on Friday called on the Federal Government to assist in making foreign exchange available for the importation of petroleum products.

Jonathan Lowe, a reporter for KPHO, was arrested Monday afternoon after allegedly defecating on the front lawn near a story subject’s home.
According to NY Daily news, the 33-year-old was spotted by a neighbor who saw the local celebrity picking up papers from the street before leaning against the wall of a house and relieving himself, according to a Goodyear police report obtained by his station.

President Buhari Sacks Executive Secretary Of NCPC, John Opara

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the dismissal of John Opara, executive secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC). Babachir Lawal, secretary to the government of the federation, disclosed this in a statement, saying the decision took effect from Thursday.

National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu said yesterday, the Federal Government’s removal of subsidy on petrol was necessary and inevitable.
He said a situation where bogus suppliers were paid huge sums for supplying nothing while long lines of queues remained was unsustainable, The Nation reports.

According to Tinubu, while the price of fuel was cheap on paper, there were hidden costs that made the subsidy regime an expensive and heavy yoke for the country.
He said:
