Barcelona Advance Past Atletico Madrid With 2-1 Victory

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone conceded his side’s title chances may have gone as they were reduced to nine men in losing 2-1 to league leaders Barcelona on Saturday.

Victory moved the European champions three points clear of Atletico – having also played a game less – and seven ahead of third-placed Real Madrid.

 The senator representing Anambra Central District, Princess Stella Oduah on Friday in Abuja, described as “a misinterpretation”, media reports which quoted a Supreme Court judgment to have sacked her and other federal lawmakers from Anambra.

The media was awash with reports yesterday that the apex court had sacked Oduah and other federal lawmakers from the state elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, saying that their nominations to contest in the 2015 election was illegal.

Biu was arrested on Monday following intelligence report alleging that he extorted $150,000 from some military officers, who are currently under investigation by the EFCC for their roles in the $2.1 billion arms deal scandal, on the pretext that he would help give them a soft landing.

Guitarist and founding member of Jefferson Airplane Paul Kantner has died at the age of 74, according to multiple reports.Kantner’s publicist confirmed the news to the San Francisco Chronicle that said he died Thursday of multiple organ failure.

 An appeal court sitting in Lagos has adjourned for judgement the appeal filed by star actress and former beauty queen, Ibinabo Fiberesima challenging the judgement of a Lagos High Court which sentenced her to five years imprisonment for causing the death of a Lagos medical doctor, Giwa Suraj.

The embattled actress was sentenced to five years imprisonment for reckless driving which caused the death of one Dr. Giwa Suraj in an auto accident along Lekki-Epe expressway, Lagos State. The deceased was a staff of one of Lagos state owned hospitals.
