Officials of the Rivers State police command have exhumed the lifeless remains of a 32-year-old Port Harcourt-based car dealer identified as Chukwuma Nwaogbue and his yet to be identified friend from a shallow grave inside a bush.
The Trent reports that Nwaogbue was murdered in cold blood when he and his friend went to inspect a land he bought in Rumu Ekini East West Road near Chuba area of the state.
It was gathered that some gunmen intercepted the two friends as they drove out of the land on Friday, April 3, 2015 and shot them.
It was learnt that the assailants shot the victims after Nwaogbue confirmed to them that they he had gone to inspect the land which he had paid for.
The deceased, who hails from Ubulu Uku in Delta State, is a married man.
It was reported that the two men were subsequently buried in a shallow grave inside the bush, but fortunately a farmer caught the assailants in the act and quickly called the police to the scene.
It was the policemen that reportedly exhumed the corpses of the victims and contacted Nwaogbue’s family.
