According to the Daily Mail, the threesome wants to do a reunion, but they won't do it under their former group name because Beyonce's father would have to become involved if they did -- something none of them want.
"Although Destiny's Child is made up of the three ladies, Beyoncé's father and former manager Mathew Knowles owns one-fourth of the group, as well. Anytime they do anything under the name Destiny's Child, he has involvement in it and money from it," a source told the U.K. newspaper.
None of the girls, Beyonce included, want anything to do with him, it was reported. Early in the womens' careers, Matthew managed them all individually, as well as Destiny's Child.
The girl's recently surprised fans when they reunited in Las Vegas during the Stellar Gospel Awards to perform a medley of songs from Michelle's latest album. The women were all introduced by their individual names, rather than as Destiny's Child. It was the first time the three had performed together since the halftime show of the Super Bowl in 2013.
The trio's unwillingness to deal with Mathew is why they keep putting off a Destiny's Child reunion album and tour, the newspaper said.
Their 2005 "Destiny Fulfilled" tour grossed nearly $71 million in the U.S., according to estimates. The ladies apparently think that a new tour would shatter records.
"The problem is they can't figure out how to nix Mathew from the deal," the source said. "They all want more than anything to give the fans one last run of the group, especially since they all have their own individual success, but don't want to deal with Mathew."
