Forget about Cristiano Ronaldo & sign me Neymar instead, Jose Mourinho urges Man United chiefs

JOSE MOURINHO has reportedly told Manchester United bigwigs to forget about Cristiano Ronaldo and sign Neymar instead.

Ronaldo reinforced his position as one of the world’s best players last season.

Real won La Liga and the Champions League – with Ronaldo grabbing a brace against Juventus in the Cardiff showpiece. In total, he netted 42 goals in 46 games.

However, his future at the Bernabeu has been thrown into doubt amid suggestions he’s fed up with the Spanish authorities.

Manchester United have been heavily linked with their former star but Real are expected to demand at least £150m to part with their talisman.

Mourinho, who had a fractured relationship with Ronaldo during their time together at Real, isn’t fussed about signing his compatriot.

That’s according to Spanish news outlet Don Balon who say Mourinho has informed club executives to divert the cash towards securing Neymar.

It’s suggested Mourinho is a long-term admirer of the Brazilian and tried to sign him while he was a Santos player.
United are in the market for a new forward this summer.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has left the club after suffering a long-term injury.

Meanwhile Wayne Rooney is expected to pack his bags after an underwhelming 12 months under Mourinho’s stewardship.
