FOX To Cancel “American Idol” After Its Upcoming 15th Season

Fox is lowering the curtain on “American Idol,” ending a series that dominated television throughout the 2000s and made stars of the likes of Simon Cowell, Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood.

American Idol began in 2002 and it averaged over 25 million viewers a season. Top stars who will return for a season-long celebration of the shows history include Jennifer Lopez, Ryan Seacrest, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr."
