When make-up artist Sam Chapman posted a picture on social media challenging her followers to work out which side of her face had been made up with products that cost £287, and which side with High Street brands totalling £58.40, it attracted nearly a million views.
Barely anyone could tell the difference, showing that when it comes to classy make-up, the trick is often in the application, not the price tag.
To prove her point, Sam, who started the immensely popular Pixiwoo YouTube channel with her sister Nic, repeated the experiment on Femail’s Claire Coleman.
She made up the left side of Claire’s face, as you look at this picture, with products costing £411.25. The right side was made up with products worth £68.47.
To keep things equal, Sam used the same brushes on both sides.
