Father And Son Die While Digging Well In Sokoto (Read)

 Tragedy struck in Gidan-Filani village of Wamakko Local Government Area of Sokoto State, when a man identified as Umar and his son, Abubakar, lost their lives while digging a well.
The incident occurred when the duo were working in a well they planned to convert to a borehole.
Narrating the sad occurrence, an eyewitness who did want to be identified said the wall of the well collapsed while Abubakar was working inside it.

“The well had reached at least nine feet when it suddenly collapsed while Abubakar was working inside and he drowned.
“Following the development, Umar also went into the well with the intention of rescuing his son and he also failed to come out,” he narrated.

The Secretary of the Tippers Association in the state, Alhaji Abu Maitifas, said the lifeless bodies of the two men were later retrieved by the men of the state Fire Service.
