Donald Trump ‘flirts’ with female reporter in Oval Office

US president Donald Trump is right now under fire after a video which shows him ‘flirting’ with an Irish reporter during a phone call with Ireland’s new prime minister, Leo Varadkar, emerged online.

Trump was on the phone with Varadkar, who is Ireland’s first gay prime minister, to congratulate him on his recent election win.

As the US president and Irish premier discussed issues such as migration and Britain’s exit from the European Union, Mr Trump broke off their conversation to compliment RTE reporter Caitriona Perry’s “nice smile”.

He had spotted her amongst the reporters present in the Oval Office.
As he pointed at her and beckoned her with his index finger, Trump told Varadkar:
“Well, we have a lot of your Irish press watching us. They’re just now leaving the room.”
“And where are you from?” he then asks Caitriona Perry, Washington correspondent for RTE. Trump beckoned her to his desk in the Oval Office.
‘And where are you from? Go ahead, come here. Where are you from? We have all of this beautiful Irish press. Where are you from?’
After Ms Perry approached Trump and gave her name and organisation, Mr Trump said to Varadkar:
“She has a nice smile on her face. So I bet she treats you well.”
Ms Perry, the Washington correspondent and US bureau chief for RTE, and a few others laughed as she returned to her spot in the room and the call continued.

71-year-old business mogul-turned-politician Donald Trump, who faced calls to withdraw from last year’s presidential election over inappropriate remarks about women, is being criticised on social media for calling the reporter over and commenting on her looks.
