Super Eagles’ footballer, Ogenyi Onazi has ended his contract with his Turkish club, Trabzonspor with immediate effect.
In a chat with Sports Daily, the reliable midfielder cited the inability of the club to meet up with its contractual obligations as reason for the termination. He indicated that the club was in the habit of owing salaries and are at the moment owing him over 3 months salary.
You will recall that Trabzonspor had a remarkable season in the Turkish league, beating the club’s record and winning streaks and was at a point on the verge of making the Champions League. The club finished a respectable 6th in the Turkish Süper Lig.
He has given the club an ultimatum to pay up the outstanding salaries in the first week of July 2017 in order to avoid getting FIFA involved. It remains to be seen how this will be resolved.
