Nigeria Won’t Break-Up Under My Rule – Okorocha

Gov Rochas Okorocha during one of his party’s rally

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state, yesterday, told delegates from the North-West zone of the All Progressive Congress (APC) that his aspiration to rule Nigeria was borne out of his desire to rescue the country from disintegration, The Nation reports.

Okorocha who was addressing the delegates at education foundation premises in Kano, expressed confidence that APC will win the 2015 general election if he emerges the party’s presidential candidate.

He said his contacts and connections across the country give him an edge over other aspirants, saying that he has what it takes to fix the problems of insecurity, education, agriculture, poverty, as well as ensuring the unity of Nigeria.

He called on Nigerian leaders to discard religious and ethnic sentiments, adding that it shouldn’t be a pre-requisite for power.

Okorocha was once a presidential aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2007 presidential primaries of the party. He described the ruling party as a symbol of deceit and failed leadership.

It will be recalled that Governor Okorocha of Imo state recently declared that he will be the president in 2015.
