The Presidential Candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, on Thursday in Ibadan promised good governance, if elected president on Feb. 14.
Buhari made the pledge while addressing party faithful at Mapo Hall, Ibadan, as part of his nationwide mobilisation rally ahead of next month's election.
"If you vote for me, I promise to provide good governance for the teeming populace.
"This will entail provision of employment, infrastructure such as good roads, water supply, free education and security.
"APC will revive ailing industries, build houses and invest in agriculture to create jobs for the masses."
Buhari, who called on voters to let their votes count during the election, assured Nigerians that the APC led-government at the centre would do it right.
Also addressing the rally, APC National Leader, Bola Tinubu, called on the eligible voters to come all out to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) so that they would be able to exercise their civic rights.
He said this was the only way they could vote candidates of their choice, saying that "the slogan now in INEC is "No PVC, No Voting".
Tinubu, who promised that an APC- controlled government would provide free education, health, create jobs and empower the youth, praised the strides of Governor Ajimobi of Oyo State and then called on the people of the state to re-elect him.
On his part, the APC National Chairman, Chief Odigie Oyegun, however, condemned the call for the postponment of the election, insisting that there would be no going back on the scheduled election.
"I want the voters to go out and vote for Buhari, APC Presidential Candidate," he said.
Gov. Ajimobi, however, urged the electorates to give him another term to complete his transformation and restoration agenda for the state
It is reported that the rally which was attended by other party chieftains, including Governor Rotimi Ameachi of Rivers, Gov. Adams Oshiomhole of Edo and their Osun counterpart, Rauf Aregbesola, among otehrs, attracted unprecedented crowd.
It is also reported that the campaign train, which adjusted its programme, had also paid homage to the Olubadan of Ibadanoland, Samuel Odulana 11 and Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, the Alaafin of Oyo.
