Little Daisy was born with an extremely rare disorder called anophthalmia, meaning she had no eyes, Cwmbran, South Wales, UK.
But when they saw Daisy first time they were stunned as the girl was born without any eyes and doctors told them she will never be able to see.
Mother-of-three Danielle Davis, 24, said: “It was a shock – we had never heard of it before and neither had any of our friends or family. People didn’t really know what to say when we told them. But she is our gorgeous baby and we have no regrets about turning down a termination. We want to give Daisy as normal a life as possible and give her the same opportunities as other children.”
Daisy, now eight weeks old, is at home with her siblings Logan, six, and
Tyler, four. She will undergo a series of operations to fit glass eyes
that will be replaced with more natural-looking when she turns 18. Her
brave parents are now planning a 3,7km skydive to raise funds for the
charity that supports people with sight loss. The couple also want to
raise awareness of the condition.
