The Late Show host made a joke that reportedly did more than fall flat, it silenced over 100 people in his audience during the April 20 taping of his world famous show.The 68-year-old is known to kick off his daily tapings by answering burning questions from the audience and when one woman asked what his advice would be for the class of 2015, he didn’t have something very kind to say.
David immediately replied: ”Treat a lady like a whore and a whore like a lady.”
FYI, the quote is actually a famous joke by screenwriter Wilson Mizner but unfortunately, his crowd didn’t catch it. The audience was so silent you could reportedly hear a pin drop!
An audience member tells Us Weekly: ”I turned to my wife and was, like, ‘What?’ It was really the first joke of the evening, and it seemed like an odd choice.”
Well, coming from a guy who admitted in 2009 to have had affairs with various women on his staff, women didn’t dig in."
