An 18-year-old Hillsborough County, USA man, Austin Hatfield learned the hard way that snakes are not to be toyed with as he was bitten on the lips by a poisonous four-foot long snake when he tried to kiss the reptile while swimming.

Hatfield is reported to have captured the Cottonmouth snake sometimes called water moccasins, which are extremely dangerous, and tried to kiss it but it revolted and bit him.

He was taken to a hospital in a critical condition though he is expected to recover.
