Two lovers who engaged in a sexual relationship were left distraught after discovering they were brothers.
Paul, who was taken into care at 18 months and adopted at three years old, met boyfriend Lee via internet dating. The pair chatted for two and a half years before agreeing to meet in person and it was love at first site.
Appearing on The Jeremy Kyle Show in an episode which was aired again as part of its 10th anniversary, Paul says: "We met in November of last year. It was emotional because we’d been talking for so long." After things got serious, Lee then introduced Paul - who has no memory of his biological family - to his mum and step dad who all hit it off, but people soon started to tell Paul he looked a lot like Lee's mum's ex husband Ron and shortly after Lee's mum admitted he had a half brother he never knew about. "
You are having a physical sexual relationship with a man that you love and want to marry and at some point somebody might tell you that he could be your half brother - what does that do to you?" Jeremy Kyle asks. Lee replies: "It makes me sick. It makes me basically horrible. I can’t describe it." "What's the worst case scenario if it turns out you are brothers?" "I’m hoping that it’s not true because I love you so much it’s unreal,"
Paul replies. While Lee says: "I'm the same. It’s hard to describe how much I love you." Jeremy Kyle then reads out a statement from Ron where he says he had four children and one of them was named Paul.
