See How Much USA Actually Donated To Nigeria To Fight Boko Haram

The Multinational Joint Task Force is to get a donation of $5 million to boost the military operation against the Boko Haram insurgency from the United States Government. This is contrary to reports in the media that the US is donating to the Nigerian military, $5billion.

The U.S. Embassy in Nigeria clarified this on Tuesday and provided excerpts of the media briefing with members of the U.S. government delegation to the African Union Summit in Johannesburg.
Linda Thomas-Greenfield in a transcript of Monday’s press conference released by the U.S. embassy, said the U.S. government was working with Nigeria and other African countries to address their concerns about Boko Haram. The country said, it is also providing some equipment and support, apart from the $5 million.
