Donald Trump Refers to 9/11 as 7/11 During Speech in New York

Donald Trump just mixed up 9/11 with 7-Eleven, aka the chain of convenience stores responsible for Slurpees and Big Gulps. The GOP frontrunner was giving a speech in Buffalo, New York, on Monday, April 18, when he misspoke.
“I wrote this out, and it’s very close to my heart,” he told the crowd. “Because I was down there and I watched our police and our firemen down at 7/11, down at the World Trade Center right after it came down. And I saw the greatest people I’ve ever seen in action.”
Trump did not correct himself and has yet to address the snafu.
His hiccup comes ahead of Tuesday’s New York primary. The controversial candidate has been vocal about his advocacy for New York City following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, battling his opponent Ted Cruz over the phrase “New York values.”
