When the singer dropped Lemonade in April, fans assumed the entire album was about her husband’s alleged infidelity.
However, songwriter Ingrid, who worked on album track Love Drought, has revealed that the track, which was inspired by an incident involving Queen B, had nothing to do with the rapper.Ingrid told Genius .
“When I wrote Love Drought, I was very frustrated with the label at the time two years ago,”
Two of the people who were in the label at the time had lied to me and told me Beyoncé wasn’t currently listening to any new music.”
Ingrid – who revealed that Beyonce doesn’t even know the truth behind the track – said that she became angry after learning she’d been lied to.
She added:
“The whole hook, Love Drought is about music, you know, my relationship with music.”
