N’Golo Kante’s second-half strike helped Chelsea squeeze past 10-man Manchester United 1-0 at Stamford Bridge and book their place in the FA Cup semi-final.
Ander Herrera was sent off for two bookable offences in the first half, with both yellows coming within the space of 15 minutes for challenges on Eden Hazard.
Kante opened the scoring with his second goal of the season – the first coming against United in October – striking a low effort beyond David de Gea, who had kept Chelsea at bay with a string of impressive saves.
Chelsea have reached the semi-final for the first time since 2013, and they will soon discover their opponents at Wembley with the draw set to take place shortly after full-time.
