Ronaldo becomes All-time Leading Goalscorer in Europe

Real Madrid forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, became the all-time leading goalscorer in Europe, after he netted in their 2-1 win over Valencia on Saturday.

Ronaldo headed Madrid in front, to claim his 20th goal of this season’s La Liga campaign. It also meant he has scored at least 20 goals in each of his eight seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Portugal captain has also now scored more goals in Europe’s top six leagues than anyone else.

His goal against Valencia was his 367th, breaking Jimmy Greaves’ 46-year-old record.

Ronaldo’s record haul of goals span across his career at Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United and now Real Madrid and came in 483 league appearances, which is 45 fewer than Chelsea, AC Milan, Tottenham, West Ham and England hero Greaves, who retired from top-flight football in 1971.

German legend Gerd Muller is third on 365 goals.
