Boko Haram: Send More Troops To The North-East – House Of Reps Member To Jonathan
House of Reps member Babatunde Adewale urged President Goodluck Jonathan to deploy more troops to the North-East involved in the bloody fight against Boko Haram insurgency.
The card holder of the All Progressives Congress (APC) made the remarl while speaking in Abuja Wednesday, November 26.
According to Adewale, based on the provision in the Armed Forces Act, Jonathan has power to deploy army to the troubled aread. He added that it was not conducive for the house members to discuss the emergency rule extension in the 3 states.
“The government should allow other arms of government to perform their duties. Let him deploy the army to these places and continue the operations pending the time that insurgency will come down. All of us have to be patriotic; we have suffered for this democracy and we should nurture it, we should allow it to work.”
