257 Persons Died In Road Accidents In 2014 – FRSC

                     The Corps Marshal of the Fedral Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr Boboye Oyeyemi, has revealed that 257 persons died in 439 road accidents in 2014.

According to Mr Boboye, speed violation was top on the causes accounting for about 50% of the accidents.
He said there was need for enforcement of speed limits, especially for commercial operators and this, he said, would commence on June 1.

He warned that 2015 would be a year of intense enforcement, saying that the corps’ target for the year is to further reduce road accidents in the country by 20 percent and deaths resulting from accidents by 30 percent.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) is the government agency with statutory responsibilities for road safety administration in Nigeria.

Founded in 1988, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) operates in all Nigerian states as well as the Federal Capital Territory.
