The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will on Thursday in Lagos present badges to Nigeria’s FIFA-listed referees for the year 2015, the association said on Wednesday in Abuja.
A statement gathered by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) credited to Ademola Olajire, NFF’s Assistant Director, Communications, the association would badge six male centre referees, three female centre eferees, seven male Assistant Referees and four female Assistant Referees.
Others to be presented the FIFA badges are four Futsal Referees and four Beach Soccer Referees.
The statement said NFF Chairman Amaju Pinnick would badge the referees at the Eko Hotel and Suites just before the 2014 Glo-CAF Awards ceremony at the same venue.
The male centre referees are Amao Opeyemi, Udoh Ferdinand, Ao Abubakar, Shuaibu Abdullahi, Odey Ekabatiem and Ogunyamodi Shina, while the women are Nwogu Nneka, Musa Hadiza and Foluso Ajayi.
The male assistant referees are Edibi Peter, Baba Abel, Pwadutakam Samuel, Usman Isah, Orowole Tope, Igudia Celestine and Ogwu Peter.
The women assistant referees are Momoh Bosede, Iyorhe Agatha, Nkwocha Uba and Aliu Obile.
The Futsal referees are Musa Davou, Ukah Ndubuisi, Umar Fagge and Umuago Akpome, with Ogunmuyiwa Jelili, Mohammed Sani, Jimeta Suleiman and Ushie Michael as the Beach Soccer referees.
Meanwhile, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has picked NFA’s Deputy Director of Competitions, Bola Oyeyode, as Assistant General Co-ordinator at the 19th African Youth Championship (AYC).
The competition is scheduled to take place in Senegal between March 8 and March 22.
The Flying Eagles, Nigeria’s under-20 male team and six-time champions of the championship, will play in Group A alongside hosts Senegal, Congo and Cote d’Ivoire.
Oyeyode, who is a CAF Education Officer, will work with General Co-ordinators Alex Asante of Ghana and Mazen Marzouk of Egypt.
He will also work with Gabonese Yoland Mavouroutou who will serve as the other Assistant General Co-ordinator.
Aisha Falode, a member of the CAF Media Committee, is the other Nigerian named as a CAF officer for the championship.
