VP’s Wife Assures Women Of More Political Participation

The Wife of the Vice President, Dr Aminat Sambo, has assured Nigerian women in the south-west that political positions for women will be increased from 35 per cent to 45 per cent, should President Goodluck ‎Jonathan be re-elected at the march 28 Presidential polls.
Dr Aminat Sambo gave the woman the assurance in Osogbo, the Osun state capital, while addressing the women at the Nelson Mandela freedom park, in continuation of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign.

The wife of the Vice President arrived in company of some of the party leaders, to stand in for the first lady.

The women were called upon, to see themselves as useful tools in the political terrain and those who have not collected their Permanent Voter Cards were advised to do so within the stipulated time.

The VP’s wife also urged the people of the state, especially the women, to vote massively for the PDP in all the elections, saying it is the only party that can ensure good governance.

She assured women that if President Goodluck Jonathan was re-elected, he would involve the women more in matters of governance, saying “women play key roles in ensuring good governance”‎.
