President Buhari has sacked Patrick Ziakede Akpobolokemi as Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).
In a statement by the special adviser to the President on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, the termination of Akpobolokemi’s appointment takes immediate effect.
“He is to hand over the management of NIMASA and all government property in his possession to the most senior officer in the agency who will remain in charge until a new Director-General is appointed,” the statement said.
He was reappointed for another four-year tenure in October 2014 by former President Goodluck Jonathan when the first tenure expired.
