EgyptAir plane left with bloody dent after bird strike
An EgyptAir flight got into with a smash with a bird while coming in
to land at London’s Heathrow airport leaving it with a bloodied, dented,
nose.
Photographs show how the creature left a large blood-smothered dent in the Boeing 737-800’s beak.
Pilots landed the plane and its 71 passengers safely and while the fate of the bird is unclear, it is thought to have died.
The plane was grounded for a total of 21 hours so its radome, which
protects the aircraft’s antenna from atmospheric and physical damage,
could be replaced.
