Nigerian Army Releases 42 Boko Haram Suspects

NIGERIAN ARMY RELEASES 42 BOKO HARAM
                        Information has informed that the Nigerian Army has freed 42 Boko Haram suspects.
                        According to The Nation, the suspects were freed by authorities of 7 Division, Nigerian Army, Maiduguri and handed over to Governor Kashim Shettima.
                       The suspects were also given N100, 000 to enable them settle down in the society. Col Sani Usman, Deputy Director of the Army Public Relations has revealed that the suspects were released because it has been found that they had no affiliations with the infamous Islamist terrorist group.
 “Out of the 42 suspects cleared by the military this month, three are from the neighboring countries of Burkina Faso, Chad and Cameroon,” he said, while presenting the freed suspects at the Government House.
It was gathered that most of the released suspects are students, traders, carpenters, drivers and panel beaters. While there were elderly people among them, the group was mainly made up of persons between the ages of 18 and 30.
Governor Shettima, Borno State Governor has said that some of the released suspects will be immediately encouraged to engage in various areas of trade.

 “An idle mind they say is the devils’ workshop, therefore we cannot allow you people to be idle. From your introduction, some of you are drivers, others are tailors and some are students. All the drivers would be immediately engaged by the state government and the tailors too will be useful for our free uniform for school children.
For the students, I am going to assist you to go back and complete your studies. Others will also be taken care of appropriately,”
the governor said.
It will be recalled that earlier today, it was revealed that a Boko Haram financier was sentenced to 10 years in jail.

A week ago, Boko Haram invaded Mubi in Adamawa state and hoisted its flag.

Hundreds of Nigerian soldiers were said to have fled Mubi moments after the attack.

According to report, the seizure was carried out by only 64 Boko Haram militants.
