The rapper was shot around 9:30 am on Dec. 5 around the 800 block of Spruce Avenue in Pleasantville, New Jersey, police tells NBC10.
Sigel -- born Dwight E. Grant -- was released from Pennsylvania's Federal Correctional Institution, Schuylkill in August after serving two sentences concurrently for tax evasion and drug possession.
NBC10 reports that Sigel is currently undergoing surgery.
