Finally: Keshi Comes Back Home

Stephen Keshi

Super Eagles Head Coach Stephen Keshi has finally flown in back into the country after taking some weeks off to spend with his family in the USA.

The African Cup of nation’s winner arrived yesterday amidst speculation about his future with the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Keshi’s original contract had expired in June 2014 after the Eagles run in the 2014 Brazil World Cup.

The leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, had earlier wanted a foreign coach to take over but that plan has cancelled out with the Federation President, Amaju Pinnick, at different forums confirming that the Big Boss will be allowed to continue on the job.

Keshi’s return to the country may be to sign a new contract before the national teams as qualifiers for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2016 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) are set to begin.

In Keshi’s absence, Assistant coach , Daniel Amokach had led a home-based Eagles to two friendly games in the United Arab Emirates.

The first game in which they lost 0-1 to Ivory Coast and defeating Yemen 2-0 in Dubai days after.
