The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State has launched its state-wide campaign as it prepares in its bid to wrestle power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The party, which has been in the opposition in the state since 1999, is being lead by its self-acclaimed god-father in Lagos, former Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) Chairman, Chief Bode George and his right-hand man, former Minister of Works, Chief Adeseye Ogunlewe.

The gubernatorial candidate of the party in the forthcoming elections is former Democratic Peoples Alliance (DPA) governorship candidate in the 2011 elections, Mr. Jimi Agbaje.
Worthy of note, is the presence of Nigeria’s former Ambassador to Ghana,Senator Musiliu Obanikoro at the rally.
Obanikoro had been having a running battle with Agbaje and Chief Bode George, over the PDP governorship primary which was enmeshed in controversy. But the immediate past Minister of State for Defence, decided to work with the duo after President Goodluck Jonathan intervened in the feud between the party chieftains and promised Obanikoro that he would be given a senior ministerial slot in 2015.
The rally which was held at the Sky Power Ground, Ikeja GRA signals the beginning of the PDP state-wide tour as it moves to all the local governments in Lagos state to canvass for votes for Agbaje.
