An unidentified 15-year old boy has been arrested by officials of Wiltshere Police who are investigating a racial abuse aimed at Arsenal striker, Danny Welbeck.
According to reports, the teenager was held and questioned for rendering a racial abuse via Twitter after Welbeck scored the winning goal that eliminated his former club, Manchester United from the FA Cup on Monday, March 9, 2015.
A spokesperson from Wiltshere Police confirmed the arrest two days after the match but the boy has since been released on bail until April 13 when investigation is expected to be wrapped up.
An official statement says: ‘A 15-year-old male from the Salisbury area was arrested on the evening of March 12 on suspicion of racial abuse. He has been released on police bail until April 13. Below is his Twitter rant at Danny Welbeck:
‘The vile, racist rant, tweeted by user @angeIsleftfoot, read: ‘Welbeck is dead to me, the f****** c***…’
