MOST READ- What Court Did To AIT Because Of Tinubu

APC national leader, Bola Tinubu
A Lagos State high court has granted the injunction barring, Daar Communications from disseminating a documentary titled, “The Lion of Bourdillon” pending the determination of “The Motion on Notice” the Trent reports.

The Court led by Honourable Justice Akinkugbe I.O. gave the directive on Monday after the application was moved by Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, the lead counsel for the national leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, (the Plaintiff/Applicant] in the defamation case against Daar Communications (the owner of the African Independent Television).

It was learnt that Chief Mike Ozekhome, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), was the counsel to the defendant during the hearing of the case on March 16, 2015.

The court, however, adjourned the motion for Interlocutory Injunction on the application of the defendant/respondent counsel to Friday, March 20, 2015.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) and African Independent Television (AIT) had earlier explained why they aired the ‘Lion Of Bourdillion’ documentary that exposed the mismanagement of land, properties and funds by Former Governor of Lagos and national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Tinubu.

In reaction to the aired documentary Tinubu threatened to sue the owners of AIT for airing a documentary he deemed slanderous “in all respects”.

Recall that a federal high court in Lagos had earlier restrained Africa Independent television (AIT), Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) and the Broadcasting Organisatiion of Nigeria (BON) from airing any damaging video against Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, the vice-presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC)."
