Former Chelsea striker and legend, Didier Drogba might Get fined for refusing to appear before the media after his debut appearance for Montreal Impact against Philadelphia Union last Saturday.According to reporters on the scene, Drogba told reporters to go through his publicity team in order to set up interviews after coming in as a 58th minute substitute in the club’s 1-0 loss.
This was uncommon for the reporters who are used to speaking to players in locker rooms immediately after the game.
Drogba might be fined for failing to speak to the media, even though the MLS has not been faced by such an incident before.
“I thought he brought a presence in the team. Just his presence lifted the team. The stadium got really excited,” Klopas said after Montreal’s defeat to Philadelphia.
“I just think we’ve got to find a better way to use him. That’s going to take time. But he was good. He had chances in the box.
“We could have got him the ball a little bit quicker with the service, but I think it’s going to come.”
37-year-old Drogba just recently left Chelsea for the second time after being brought back by Jose Mourinho to help him win the Premiership title once more.
