Manchester United planning massive $112 million bid for Arjen Robben

Louis Van Gaal could be planning a monster move before the transfer window closes on September 1. According to Dutch news outlet De Telegraaf, United is preparing a massive bid of $112 million to bring  Arjen Robben to Old Trafford, which would reunite LVG with one of his favourite players.
Robben was one of van Gaal’s first signings when he was in charge at Bayern, and starred at the World Cup for the Netherlands under LVG.
Robben won two Premier League titles in his three seasons at Chelsea, but has become one of the world’s elite during his time at Bayern Munich. Last season he finished fourth in the voting for the FIFA Ballon d’Or, given to the best player in the world.

With United missing out on Pedro to Chelsea, Robben would become the signing of the summer should he leave Bayern.

Through six seasons at the club, Robben has won three Bundesliga titles and the 2013 Champions League. Last season, he scored 17 goals in 21 games despite battling injuries throughout the year.

Manchester United had been linked with a possible move for Bayern’s Thomas Muller, but the club has insisted there is no price that they will accept for their star striker. However, could $112 million be enough to sell their star winger?

Despite being 31-years-old, Robben has proven he is still one of the top players in the world, with some considering him the best behind Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. He has won every trophy imaginable at Bayern, and has played some of his best football under the guidance of Louis van Gaal.

Bayern Munich has a plethora of attacking stars, while Manchester United is in need of some more offensive firepower after scoring just two goals in the opening three matches of the Premier League season. If Arjen Robben ended up a Red Devil, silverware could be on its way to Old Trafford
